Advantage Plan Open Enrollment Here
Open enrollment for Medicare is finished for recipients of regular Medicare, but if you have Medicare Advantage Plan, you still have an opportunity to make changes if you find that you need to.
The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period is January 1 through March 31.
If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, during this time, it means you can:
–Switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan with or without drug coverage.
–Drop your Medicare Advantage Plan and return to Original Medicare. You will also be able to join a separate Medicare Part D drug plan.

You cannot, however, switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan. You cannot join a separate Medicare Part D drug plan if you are in Original Medicare. And, you cannot switch from one Medicare drug plan to another if you are on Original Medicare.

You may make only one change during this time, and such a change would be effective the first day of the month after your plan gets your request.

If you are returning to Original Medicare and joining a separate Medicare drug plan, you do not need to contact your Medicare Advantage plan. You will be dropped from the Medicare Advantage Plan when you join the drug plan.

If you need help with these services, contact CLAIM, the State Health Insurance Program, at (800) 390-3330. As always, if you suspect you are the victim of Medicare fraud or abuse, call the Missouri Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) at (888) 515-6565.

This project was supported, in part by grant number 90MPPG0040, from the U.S. Administration for Community Living, Department of Health and Human Services, Washington, D.C. 20201. Grantees undertaking projects under government sponsorship are encouraged to express freely their findings and conclusions. Points of view or opinions do not, therefore, necessarily represent official Administration for Community Living policy.
