Finding Joy in the Season – Join the Alzheimer’s Association for a virtual special event presented by Brenda Gurung.

For families living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, the holidays can be bittersweet and challenging. Festivities can agitate or confuse individuals with the disease. Care partners can be overwhelmed by trying to maintain holiday traditions while providing care. Holiday gatherings and family get-togethers can become stressful and uncomfortable However, with planning, adjusted expectations, and tips from the Alzheimer’s Association, seasonal celebrations can still be happy and meaningful.
The Alzheimer’s Association is hosting a virtual education program to help families better navigate and enjoy the holiday season. Topics covered will include

• Making new holiday traditions
• Supporting the caregiver
• Communication tips
• How to respond to new behaviors
