April is National Volunteer Month! Aging Ahead, along with other organizations in the aging network, rely on volunteers to deliver vital programs and services. We’re pleased to share some information about opportunities you may want to consider to help support older adults in our community.

Alzheimer’s Association. Help advance the fight against Alzheimer’s from the ground up. CLAIM – Apply to join our team of certified counselors who help people understand their Medicare healthcare benefits and assist them on a one-on-one basis with their Medicare questions. LifeWise STL – The Senior Companion Program provides meaningful volunteer opportunities to individuals age 55 years or older. Through home and community visits, Senior Companion volunteers help isolated and frail older adults maintain the highest possible level of independent living. Oasis – Franklin County – RSVP Intergenerational Tutoring Program pairs older adults with children in grades K-3 to work one-on-one each week as their tutors, mentors and friends.
