John is a veteran diagnosed with terminal cancer. He returned home from the hospital during the peak of COVID-19 and lives alone. A VA social worker contacted Aging Ahead about setting John up with Meals on Wheels. We dropped off a few extra items along with his meals to make him feel comfortable like toilet paper, personal hygiene items, reading materials, and additional non-perishable food. John now looks forward to greeting Sherry, an Aging Ahead staff member, each week when she drops off his meals.
