Choice Location: Grant’s View Library presented by Be SMART
Presentation Description: Increasing gun violence affects the safety and well-being of everyone in our communities. Be SMART is an educational program for adults to help keep our children and families safe. Adults of all ages play key roles in families and communities to reduce risks of firearm-related homicides, suicides, and unintentional shootings. One hundred Americans are shot and killed in this country every day. Firearms are the second leading cause of death for children and adolescents in the US. We know that 4.6 million kids live in homes where guns are loaded and unlocked. Also, studies show that 7.3 million grandparents live with grandchildren and 1/3 of Americans over 65 years-old own guns; emphasizing gun safety a concern with all adults.
Class sizes are limited and attendees have the option to enjoy a healthy lunch catered by Gourmet to Go.
