Aging Ahead continues to make reopening our centers and offering in-person programs and services our top priorities.  As you might imagine, there are many considerations contributing to the complexity of our reopening plan.  Staffing challenges, food supply chain issues, health and safety policies and procedures are all being addressed to help ensure we are reopening as safely and quickly as possible.

Throughout this period, we have relied heavily on CDC and local public health department guidelines for how to safely provide support and services to individuals and their caregivers. The Agency will continue to follow CDC guidelines as we move forward with our reopening plan.  The safety of our participants, volunteers and staff continues to be our primary concern.

Please check this page regularly for updates on Aging Ahead’s reopening plans. Information will also be shared on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.

When Can I Start Going Back to Senior Centers?

Beginning July 6th, many of our centers will be open two days per week for in-person activities.  Frozen and cold meals will continue to be served until further notice. Each center will have specific days that they will be open for in-person activities and these days will vary by center. This is a phased plan, with many considerations in place that will support our centers in moving through each phase.

When Will the Senior Centers Be Open?

Please contact the Senior Center directly to learn about their schedules and what activities are planned.

The priority is to fully reopen five days per week at each location by the end of the year.

Are staff, volunteers and participants required to have had a vaccine to enter the senior centers?

All clients and volunteers that are accessing centers and in-person programs will be asked to sign a one-time waiver that aligns with CDC guidelines for unvaccinated persons. To view a copy of the waiver which you will be asked to sign at the center, please click here.  It is currently recommended but not required that our participants be vaccinated to participate.  The Agency has mandated the COVID-19 vaccination for all staff and client-facing volunteers. Client-facing Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID19 and provide record of their vaccination status prior to being approved for volunteer duties.

What if I do not feel comfortable coming into a senior center?

We understand and want you to know we are still here for you!  Meals will still be available for curbside pick-up and we plan to continue the virtual programs and activity sheets to help you stay connected.  Please contact your center for more information.    We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we move forward with reopening. This will likely be a fluid process, with many updates along the way. Thank you for your support as we continue supporting all on the journey of aging!
