This important event was held on Saturday, June 1, at Queeny Park. The morning was filled with lots of excitement, laughter, sunshine and cool air as volunteers helped greet participants and special guests, coordinated onsite registration, distributed t-shirt and goody bags, passed out water on the race trail, cheered on participants as they began and finished the race and helped with countless other tasks that contributed to the success of the race.

Rene Knott and KSDK were there again this year to learn more about our mission and champion the community’s support for older adults and Meals on Wheels.  You can view his KSDK story about Aging Ahead here.

We had 125+ participants this year and were happy to see familiar faces from last year, as well as, lots of new ones joining us for the first time.  Your participation and support will help ensure homebound older adults live nourished lives through our Meals on Wheels program.

Special Guest and author of Its Never Too Late, Dr. Ed Wolfgram, spoke about the secret to longevity and good health.  He assures us the secret is SIMPLE:  staying active and eating right at any age. “At 86 years old, I’m having as much FUN now or more than ever and I’m still learning.”
