The Flu Shot is More Important than Ever
Prevent Seasonal Flu
At Aging Ahead, the health and well-being of our participants is our top priority. While our senior centers remain closed, and will not offer flu shots this year, we want to remind you the flu shot will be more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. The best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year. People over age 65, young children, and those with certain health conditions, are at high risk for serious flu complications.
The CDC recommends that people get the flu shot as soon as vaccine becomes available and before the flu is widespread. Flu shots will be in stock at doctor’s offices, pharmacies and supermarkets and drive-thru clinics. Health care providers want to keep you safe and have new safety procedures including, employee temperature checks, wearing face masks, face shields and protective gloves.
